HOPE · AI recovery companion
Someone to talk to between sessions.
HOPE is a lifelike AI companion inside the Sunstack Recovery app. Participants talk to it by voice or text — day or night — and it stays with them long after they leave your building.
HOPE is an AI
Most of recovery happens between appointments.
Your team sees people a few hours a week. The evenings, the weekends and the months after discharge are where recovery is lived — and where support usually runs thin. HOPE is there for those hours.
A conversation, not a form
Speak or type. HOPE answers with a face and a voice.
HOPE lives in the AI Chat of the participant app people already use. It’s a conversation — about a craving, a hard day or a goal — not another form to fill out.
- Inside the participant app, so there’s nothing new to download
- Voice or text, whichever feels easier that day
- Coaching across the Wellness Stacks
- Crisis help one tap away, outside the AI
Participant
Rough day. I keep thinking about going back to my old neighborhood.
HOPE
That sounds hard, and it’s good you said it out loud. Do you want to talk through what’s pulling you back, or try a short breathing exercise first?
Illustrative example, not a transcript.
For your organization
Four things HOPE does for your team.
Between sessions
Keeps people company when your team can’t.
Day or night, participants have someone to talk to — about a craving, a goal, or a hard conversation coming up.
Wellness Stacks
Coaches across every stack.
Mental, physical, nutritional, sleep, spiritual and financial wellness. HOPE meets people where their day actually is. How the stacks work →
Front door
Guides intake on your lobby kiosk.
HOPE can walk a new person through intake by voice. They’re told up front that it’s an AI, the regular form is always one tap away, and their answers land in the same intake queue your staff already review.
Your team
Keeps people in charge.
HOPE doesn’t diagnose or replace your clinicians and peers. AI-assisted session summaries go to staff to review and approve, and alerts bring in a person when it matters.
Where the answers go
Their answers land where your staff already work.
A HOPE-guided intake ends up in the same review queue as every other intake — reviewed the same way, by the same people, on the same record.
Built with guardrails
Careful by design.
- Off until you turn it on. Each organization enables HOPE, and participants consent before they use it.
- Only what the task needs. HOPE receives the minimum information a task requires, and each person is referenced by a private code, not their name or email.
- Every disclosure logged. Each time information is shared with HOPE, it’s written to your audit trail.
- No stored transcripts. Sunstack Recovery doesn’t keep HOPE transcripts, prompts or audio.
- Always told it’s AI. People know they’re talking with an AI assistant before anything is collected.
- Crisis help stays outside the AI. The SOS button and each person’s safety plan are always one tap away, whatever HOPE is doing.
